Welcome to the new built... Starting with a 2008 Kawasaki Teryx- it will be built to Super Stock class rules and be raced at NW desert / Short Course /Gran Prix/ Dune events Here is a brief over view of the build: Vehicle - 2008 Kawasaki Teryx Engine - Kawasaki 750cc V-twin Induction - Stock carbs, DynoJet tuned, UTV Crap rings Exhaust - Muzzy's duels /DEI wrap Electronics - DF CDI box/ Tech3 CDI Coils Clutch - Dalton OD cap / Neon Spring Drivetrain -Stock diffs Suspension - +3 LSR arms Shocks - Fox 2.0 DSC-R Coilovers Tires - Maxxis Fuel - Jaz cell Seats - Custom PRP Cage - BCR Tryangle cage - 1.75 DOM and 1.5 1018 Graphics - <Pending - but not green> Gauges - Vapor Dash Radios - Kenwood / PCI So why a UTV? As good as the #797 truck was, the logistics to operate it in OR did not exist. There are far more opportunities to compete with a UTV. With our reduction in shop space, race support and $, it made more sence. And 2 UTV's fit with room to spare in the toyhauler. Why a Teryx? Our red Rhino is a great machine. But the Teryx has more power, a durable train and is reasonably priced. The CanAm Commander looks to be a better machine -but too new to obtain. The Rzr did not suit our goals Why not Long Travel - The trails in OR are tight - even with +3 arms . Another 4" would be too wide. Why a SuperStock build? - to demonstrate what can be done with bolt on parts and some injinuity. In order to grow the SxS racing in the NW, we want to show that a capable vehicle can built at a reasonable price. (thing of it as a UTV 7s build...) |
